2. Participants will receive certificates of participation sent via email.

3. Finalists will receive certificates of excellence sent via email.  Finalists videos will be posted on Shiksha Facebook page.

4. Each participant will get a brief evaluation on their speech performance through email/phone

Rules and Guidelines

1. Deadline for completing registration is July 18th, 2020.

2. Deadline for submission of videos is July 31st, 2020.

3. Entries will be accepted on a first come basis. In the event of entries exceeding the capacity, registration may close before the deadline

4. A panel of judges will individually score a performance based on the rubrics. The judges may also consider additional criteria in their decision-making.

5. Participants must first complete registration at https://rgddallas.org/product/great-orators and then they will create a video recording of their speeches, one recording per category in a noise-free environment. Also make sure that the video covers the participant till waist line. This video will be uploaded to YouTube and a link to the YouTube video should be sent to shiksha@rgddallas.org along with the proof of registration.

6. The videos should be recorded only in English language.

7. A student can participate in multiple categories.

8. The competition is an individual event.

9. For each participant, the time limit is:
a) Sub-Juniors: at least 2 minutes, but be no more than 3 minutes
b) Juniors: at least 3 minutes, but be no more than 5 minutes
c) Seniors: at least 5 minutes, but be no more than 7 minutes
d) Adults: at least 5 minutes, but be no more than 7 minutes
Going below or over the time limit will incur a 10-point penalty.

10. No edits should be performed to the original video shot. If any edits are identified in the video, the participant will be disqualified.

11. The videos will be sent to the judges for judgement.

12. Finalists will be declared on August 15th, 2020. Performance videos of finalists will be posted on Shiksha Facebook Page, and The Success Door Facebook Page

13. Finalists will be notified via email or phone. Non-selected entrants will not be individually notified of the results.

14. Judges’ decisions will be absolutely final.

15. Judges will not reveal the scores they have recorded on the scoring sheet provided.

Video Rules

1. The audio must be clear and without echo, static or other excessive noise.

2. The camera must record in high definition. If a contestant does not have a camera that records in high definition, ensure the image is as clear as possible.

3. The camera must have an unobstructed, in-focus view of the contestant.

4. The participant should be visible to the waistline throughout the recording.

5. If facial expressions are clear, not showing the contestant’s entire body will not lead to a disqualification.

6. If contestants have someone operating their camera, remind them that they cannot zoom.

Rubric

Each participant will be judged with 10 parameters having 10 points each by 5 judges.  The combined scores of the participants across all categories in the age group will be used to finalists and winners.

Certificates and goodies await all winners.

Finalists will be announced on August 14th

Final results will be declared on August 21st.


The videos of the Finalist candidates shall be posted on our Facebook Page on August 14th and the video that get most likes (from August 14th to August 20th )will be awarded as Great Orator- 2020 award.

Winners will be notified via email, and a list will be published on Shiksha Facebook page.
