Build your Harmonium and Vocal Chanting skills by progressing through 6 levels from Beginner to Advanced!
A clear and structured approach has been designed so students can get a firm grasp of both Vocals, as well as fluently playing the harmonium. This will prepare them to finally be able to lead chanting in public Temple Satsangs.
It’s a hands-on course with various media being used to make the learning environment interesting and fun!

A clear and structured approach has been designed over the years so students can get a firm grasp of both Vocals, as well as the Harmonium. Some of the key aspects of the course curriculum and student progression are below:
– Learn musical notes [both western, as well basic Indian classical Sargams are taught]
– Master the identification and matching of Pitch
– Identify a scale based on your own vocal range
– Increase Vocal Clarity
– Learn the two-finger rule.
– Learn to perfect Harmonium Fingering
– Build muscle memory for your fingers
– Learn rhythm and beat using a metronome
– Learn how to pronounce bhajan words properly using a pronunciation guide
– Learn how to play without looking at the harmonium
– Learn to play with the Dholak and how to communicate with the Dholak player
– Learn chanting etiquette in a Satsang: how to repeat and lead
– Learn to play by just listening to a tune!

What else students receive…

-Opportunity to play in the weekday Satsangs in the Temple once student is ready.
-Offline assistance via whatsapp group for learners with their teachers where they can share their practice videos or ask any questions offline.
-Yearly twice (Summers – during 2nd semester – June ) and (Winters – during 3rd semester- Dec) , an opportunity to take part in Satsang led by music class students, where our Preacher and guide – Shri Nikhilanand ji comes to Dallas and observes student’s progress himself. We do live Facebook broadcast of this event. Proud moment for students and Teachers both.

Please Note

-For In person classes , instruments will be provided for the class.

-For Online Classes, students must have an instrument at home or We can refer Amazon link to buy one.

-2 make up classes will be provided at the end of semester as an opportunity for students to catchup for 2 missed classes within semester.

-All 12 Classes must be concluded within semester

-No classes will be carry forward to next semester.

-No refund will be provided for no show cases as slot has been reserved already.

Sanjitha V

Sanjitha is an active youth volunteer in Radha Govind Dham and teaching Harmonium in the temple since the beginning of Radha Govind Dham. She has been a selfless devotee who was also teaching online Harmonium during the tough times of Covid as a Seva to Temple. She is trained in  Radha Madhav Dham, Austin, and has 4 years of experience with Harmonium and Vocals.

Karun is an active volunteer at Radha Madhav Dham, Austin where he has regularly led the Sunday community satsangs for the past several years. Originally a self-taught learner, Karun has also been trained by RMD Austin in vocals and harmonium. Aside from chanting, Karun also devotes a lot of his time doing decorations Seva at Radha Madhav Dham.

This year, Karun will be an undergraduate freshman student in Saint Louis University’s BS/MD program. Being far away from home for the first time, Karun greatly looks forward to strengthening his bhakti while teaching harmonium online!

Shivani Sarangam

Shivani is an active youth volunteer and Chanter  in Radha Govind Dham. she contributes to various other youth activities in temple.

Vivek is a finance, operations, and risk management banking professional with a career that spans Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo, in the US and internationally. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is married to Roma – who is a professional artist and is also closely associated with Radha Govind Dham. 
Their son and daughter have both learned to play the harmonium and dholak, and do so during satsang and other devotional celebrations.

For Vivek, the harmonium is a blessing for his devotion, and the reason he is passionate to teach it to others who are interested. He says “the harmonium is so melodious that it beautifully enhances the feeling of devotion, and is an incredible accompaniment and support in the singing of kirtans and bhajans”.

Abhitha is an active youth volunteer at Radha Govind Dham teaching harmonium remotely, as she is currently studying as an undergraduate student. She started learning harmonium from pracharaks and teachers at a young age in 2011 and began chanting kirtans at Radha Govind Dham in 2016. She has experience teaching various levels and age groups at both Radha Govind Dham and Radha Madhav Dham, Austin for 4 years.

As an aspiring devotee, she is extremely grateful to be given the seva of spreading the beauty of the divine, melodious compositions of Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj and is very excited to work with all the students! 

Arushi Agarwal

Arushi is an active youth volunteer and lead Chanter in Radha Govind Dham and Radha Madhav Dham , Austin. She does her seva by teaching Harmonium in Radha Govind Dham Temple.
